“We are all longing to go home to some place we have never been—a place half-remembered and half-envisioned we can only catch glimpses of from time to time. Community. Somewhere, there are people to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in our throats. Somewhere a circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our own power… Someplace where we can be free."

Camp Activities

Attend Path: Each year VWC Organizers select teachers to offer classes, also known as Paths, to offer to all campers, that provide education in magickal skills that align with that year’s theme/story. Some paths will run through the entire camp week and some paths may be only one or two days long. Please try to stay with any path that you choose for its entirety, unless it's not a good match for you. If the Path does not work for you the first day, you may request acceptance into another by speaking to Path leaders. Please see our Path Offerings page for more info on this year’s Paths.

Recovery Meetings: These are initiated and facilitated by campers and listed on the camp schedule in the dining hall communication center. These can be 12-Step, All Recovery, Refugee Recovery, or another variety of shared recovery space.

Affinity Groups can be an important part of the Vermont Witchcamp experience. These optional groups meet daily, usually in the afternoon, to provide a safe, intimate space for non-judgmental support, discussion about rituals, and experiences at camp. A time will be set for selecting, joining, or forming an Affinity Group.

The VWC Labyrinth: Located in the Orchard field, the labyrinth is open to all campers. Respect the labyrinth and any who may choose to enter, by not walking across the labyrinth or obscuring the paths.

Optional Offerings: These are events led by fellow campers. Anyone can host an optional offering. These can be anything from teaching a workshop, facilitating a body awareness session such as dance or authentic movement, leading a hike, creating and priestxing a ritual or rites of passage, anything you can dream up.  They usually take place after lunch.  There will be a sign-up board in the dining hall near the communications center so people will know what, where, and when you are offering.

All-Camp Meetings/Sacred Conversations: One of the ways VWC engages in community conversations is through all-camp meetings and sacred conversations. We encourage all campers new and seasoned to attend. Meetings are posted in the dining hall communications center.

Day of Repose/Celebration: This is a day off from Path and all camp ritual. This is a day with less structure designed to allow campers to recharge. Also known as Visitors Day, prior campers and loved ones are welcomed to spend the day with VWC during the Day of Repose/Celebration. During this day VWC hosts a Magickal Faire where campers can buy and sell beautiful wares and join in the merriment on their day off from Path. Visitors are welcome from 10a.m. - 4p.m. Visitors are expected to test covid negative within 24 hours before camp, sign the VWC liability waiver upon arrival, and leave camp by 4p.m. A small donation to VWC by visitors is strongly encouraged.

Raffle: Historically a raffle with amazing items are donated by past and current campers, as well as from other witchcamps and groups. Funds raised from the raffle helps to fund scholarships for the next camp year. We are seeking donations for handcrafted and new or cherished magickal items. You can volunteer to coordinate, donate, or sell tickets. You can also simply bring quality handcrafted and new or cherished magickal items with you to camp to add to the raffle prize table.

Healing Ritual: This is a camper planned and facilitated ritual. All campers are invited to assist if they feel called.  Announcements will be made about the planning process.

The Temple of Love: This is a space within camp that is open for public events or private bookings that celebrate pleasure and sexuality.  It is camper led and facilitated.  It is a sex-positive, body positive, inclusive space for all sexualities, genders, and sensual acts between aware and consenting adults.  You must be 18+ to approach or use the TOL, which is nestled in a remote area of camp. The space is not easily accessible for all mobility needs. If you visit the TOL, please bring your own safer sex supplies and some to share if possible. There is a sign system in place to ensure privacy at the TOL if desired, or if you are open to company while there.
